Ian Mark Nacaya, City Council’s New Majority Floor Leader

Ian Mark Nacaya, who won his fresh first term in the May elections under the political party Padayon Pilipino, elected by the city council on July 4, 2016 new majority floor leader. Also, he was also elected chairman of the city council’s committees on economic rules, and laws and rules.

The new city councilor majority include the following councilors:

  • Eric Salcedo (Centrist Democratic Party)
  • Teodulfo Lao Jr. (Centrist Democratic Party)
  • Edna Dahino (Padayon Pilipino)

As said by Nacaya, “Gusto nako nga duna ko’y direksyon sa akong panerbisyo. Independiente lugar kaming duha karon ni Dahino nga mi-uban sa new majority bloc kauban sa duha gikan sa Centrist Democratic Party og nahimo na kini nga coalition,” adding that, “The objective of the coalition is to support programs for the common good.”

Meanwhile, Councilor Leon Gan was elected minority floor leader.

Earlier, before Nacaya was elected as the city council’s new majority leader, he declared that other members of the city council, including him, concurred to establish a new majority bloc in the legislative body. Purpose is to support the programs of the administration of Moreno.

Ian Nacaya is known to be a loyal political ally of Vicente Emano and has been a member of the Padayon Pilipino since the 1990s, even challenged the then congressman Rufus Rodriguez in 2013 for re-election bid.
