10 Nov Infant Died And Several Others Injured In An Ambush In Bukidnon
In an article posted by Inquirer.net, a four-month-old infant died and four others were injured in an ambush last Thursday, November 9, in Talakag, Bukidnon.
According to Police Chief Insp. Jemer delos Santos, Spokesperson of the Autonomous Region Muslim Mindanao, policemen from Lanao del Sur together with their Commander Insp. Joven Acuesta and other civilian were in a two-vehicle convoy bound to Lanao del Sur from Cagayan de Oro City when suddenly nine armed men blocked their way and fired their guns at them in Talakag, Bukidnon last Thursday, November 9.
Delos Santos said that a baby died directly during the encounter while Commander Insp. Acuesta and three other women were wounded.
It was not stated if any of the women or the baby were family members of any of the policemen in the convoy.
When the gunmen ceased firing at the convoy, they immediately escaped together with three police officers who were held as hostages.
The abducted policemen were not named by authorities and the victims were immediately brought to a hospital.
As of this writing, authorities are yet to conduct further operations to manhunt the suspects.
