29 Jan Inmates to Exercise Their Right to Vote this Coming 2016 Elections Inside Jail
Commission on Elections (Comelec) agreed with letting inmates to vote for the 2016 elections this coming May. The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) is just finishing the regulations for the inmates, assuring that they will extend a maximum security during the election day. All jails will have their own precincts for those inmates who want to vote. 40,000 inmates are expected to participate in the May elections being the third time that the Comelec allowed inmates to exercise their suffrage since 2010 in accordance with Resolution No. 8811.
