With its Cagayan de Oro-based Primavera Residences project, green builder Italpinas Development Corp. recently awarded with Leadership in Sustainability Design Award from the Philippine Green Building Council. It will represent the country in the World Green Building Council Asia Pacific Regional Network Leadership Awards.

Today, the flagship development of Italpinas is being recognized for its two eco-friendly strategies such as the following:

  • the use of passive green energy, involving an inner courtyard, a cross-ventilation layout and shaded facades
  • the use of renewable energy from rooftop solar photovoltaic panels, to power and light common areas and to afford its residents savings of 20-32 percent in air-conditioning costs

The said 10-storey twin-tower mixed use development Primavera Residences was recognized earlier this year for its eco-friendly design receiving the Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) certification given by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) which is a member of the World Bank Group. And for the record, it is the second development in the country to receive such certification.

Currently, 82 percent of the 328 units of both towers of Primavera Residences have already been sold leaving only 6 units in the first tower unsold as said by Italpinas chairman and chief operating officer, Romolo Nati.

And with the Primavera Residences’ success, a follow-up project has recently been launched by the company which is also located in Cagayan de Oro called the Primavera City.
