02 Nov 15 People Wounded in a Jeepney Accident in Tablon
Last October 31, 2016, Monday, fifteen people were injured after their boarded passenger jeepney fell into a ravine at Upper Palalan, Tablon in Cagayan de Oro. The accident happened while they were on their way to visit their departed family members in a cemetery in Libona, Bukidnon.
Among the victims were:

Brought to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center, Vercito and Lolita were reported to be in critical condition while the rest of the victims sustained bruises and wounds.
According to Randy Cordero, the driver of the jeepney who was also among the injured, they were on a winding and steep portion of the road when the vehicle’s brakes malfunctioned. That he tried to prevent the jeepney from falling into the ravine by crashing into a concrete barrier, however, the vehicle just kept on running.
“Public transport vehicles that ply out of their authorized routes must secure clearance from the Roads and Traffic Administration before making a trip out of line,” said lawyer Jose Edgardo Uy, chairman of the Task Force Hapsay Dalan, who reminded the motorists, drivers, operators and owners to ensure that their vehicles are fit to be used on the road, especially the public transport vehicles.
