18 Aug Jr Borja Hospital Nurses Undergo Ocular Emergency Training
In an article from Cagayan de Oro News Bulletin, the nurses of the J.R. Borja General Hospital have undergone an ocular emergency training in response to the need of immediately responding to patients with ocular cases or problems with eyesight.
The training was led by the Cagayan de Oro City Eyesight Board in which Dr. Carlo Antonio Romero, chairman of the board, gave the lectures on the basics of determining eye-related medical cases.
Romero said that it is important for the nurses to have the knowledge on how to administer ocular cases especially those who are assigned to emergency rooms especially now that the hospital is becoming a referral center for any medical cases.
Romero added that the cataract screening for children is still going on and the board is now on the process of collecting reading glasses to be given for free to public school students.
As of this writing, there are already 163 reading glasses given by the eye care team to different public schools.
