15 Aug Kagay-anon Boxer Carlo Paalam Set To Fight In Southeast Asian Games
Kagay-anon boxer Carlo Paalam will be one of the 6 boxers from the Philippine boxing team who will be sent to fight in different matches in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia starting this week.
In an article from Rappler.com, the 19-year old boxer once became one of the drafted members of the Philippine team after 2012 Olympic boxer Roger Landon was reserved to fight instead in the AIBA World Championships in Germany on August 25 to September 3.
Executive Director of the Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines (ABAP), Ed Picson said that he was excited for the upcoming fight of Paalam and shared his thoughts about how the career of the young boxer would soar high. “I saw him when he was a young boy paraded by Cagayan de Oro Mayor Oscar Moreno as the future of Philippine boxing.”, he said.
Paalam is a native of CdeO who learned to earn his own money by selling newspapers, cigarettes, and vegetables. Now, he is living his dreams as one of the promising rising boxing fighters in the country.
