22 Apr Kris Aquino Exploits the Presidential Chopper to Campaign for the Liberal Party

Last Wednesday, the famous actress Kris Aquino, sister of president Benigno “Noy-Noy” Aquino III caught riding the presidential chopper on her way to campaign for the Liberal Party (LP).
Renato Reyes Jr., Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) secretary general told in an interview “The issue isn’t whether or not it is OK for Kris Aquino to ride the presidential chopper with her brother. The issue is whether or not it is right for both of them to be using government resources to campaign for the Liberal Party,” indicating that the administration is using government vehicles to support LP campaigns.
In return, Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. stated that “Members of the President’s immediate family are allowed to ride with him in official government vehicles.” But, Coloma’s answer does not satisfy Reyes.
“The LP is showing itself to be the most corrupt for its shameless use of government funds and resources for partisan political activity,” Reyes said.
“From 4Ps to local projects, the budget is treated as the campaign kitty of the ruling party. All candidates should complain and protest the unfair advantage and dirty tactics employed by the LP,” he also added.
Both Kris and President Noy-Noy are actively supporting the campaign of LP standard-bearers Manuel “Mar” Roxas II and Camarines Sur Representative Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo.
