13 Apr Lanao del Sur To Extend ECQ Until April 30 Due To The Rise Of Confirmed COVID-19 Cases in PH
As an effort in preventing the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Lanao del Sur, an extension of their Enhanced Community Quarantine to April 30, 2020, was declared last Friday, April 10.
Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal Alonto Adiong, Jr. said that the extension must be made as the number of confirmed cases in the Philippines is still continually rising.
Another concern is the possibility of a “second wave” of the pandemic, like what happened in Japan, as the province won’t be able to accommodate too many patients and monitor persons under observation due to incomplete health facilities, shortage of doctors and nurses, and limited medical supplies.
Many might not agree with the extension due to Ramadhan, but this is considered one of the best ways to help prevent the number of Persons Under Investigation (PUIs) from increasing.
