26 Jan Lee Grane “Back to the Heart Tour” Live Acoustic Performance at the E-Bar
For the first time in Cagayan de Oro, Lee Grane, one of the top finalists of The Voice Philippines, held a live acoustic performance at the E-Bar Rooftop Bar of the Pacifico Boutique Hotel last January 22 and 23. This is part of Lee Grane’s “Back to the Heart Tour” that she started last year.
The E-Bar Rooftop Bar and the Pacifico Boutique Hotel are located at the corner of Apolinar Velez and Fernandez Streets. The E-Bar is considered one of the top bars in the city with a breathtaking view of the city and Cagayan River especially at night. The regular ticket entrance price was P200 that included a free beer. VIP tickets were at P300 for front row seats and included either a free beer or a free cocktail.
The day of January 22 actually started off with a short interview with Lee Grane by the crew of TV Patrol of ABS-CBN at the Pacifico Hotel’s Crema Café and Restaurant.
This was followed by the actual meet-and-greet and personal interview attended by the aboutcagayandeoro.com interview team, Gold Star Daily – Cagayan de Oro, and from the popular Boy Gym / Victor Naïve travel blog. After the interview, Miss Lee even regaled the interviewers with her guitar playing and a couple of original songs as well as a Gordon “Sting” Sumner cover.
According to Lee Grane herself, “Back to the Heart Tour” is simply named to consolidate all the live performances she started doing since last year in Cebu and abroad, as well as any future live performances she would be randomly doing anywhere in the country. Aside from Cagayan de Oro there are no set dates yet for other places.
People arriving at the venue on both nights were welcomed at the E-Bar entrance by having their pictures taken in front of the “I love Pacifico / I love Lee Grane” photo booth.
Some fairly popular people came to see the Lee Grane acoustic performance such as Ms. Neshel Cipriano, Alberto Arellano, Ms. Nicole Abas Datayan, Ms. Maribel Gargar (proprietor of Chez Marie Bar Café and Restaurant), Edgar Villaranda, Froilan Gallardo (MindaNews and Sun Star), Bernard Jaculan, Ms. Trish Tagle, Ms. Julie Ang, and of course, Ms. Eleanor Pabayo, proprietor of Pacifico Hotel.
The live performance on both days kicked off around 8:00 p.m. with a couple of acoustic front act singers.
At around 9:00 p.m. Lee Grane would appear and start talking warmly with the audience. Her repertoire included some of her original songs from her new album, “Truth is my echo,” and other songs she had written, as well as popular cover songs.
Occasionally she would ask the audience if they had any special song requests. The crowd was obviously mesmerized with her singing voice and style, some stating that she was like Norah Jones, Sarah McLachlan and Regina Spektor all rolled into one.
Ms. Lee even took the time at the end of her stint to go around and have her photo taken with the audience.
