24 Jul LTO-10 urged CdeO local gov’t to regularize ‘tri-cabs’

In a report from Bombo Radyo Cagayan de Oro, Land Transportation Office – Regional Director Oscar Salcedo has urged the local government to take action and pass an ordinance regularizing tri-cabs in the city.
Tri-cabs have become abundant in the streets of Cagayan de Oro City and for some instances have replaced the ‘motorela.’ However, these vehicles don’t have any permit to take passengers which may be a big problem if it encountered any accident.
Salcedo said the tri-cabs have no franchise permit which is needed to take on passengers around the city. The tri-cabs have been an easy alternative to ‘motorela’ since they can take up 4-6 passengers as well and have no trouble maneuvering elevated parts of the city.
