08 Jul Local Transmission Of COVID-19 Confirmed In Iligan City, Affected Area Now Under Lockdown
Mga higala! The City Health Office (CHO) of Iligan City has confirmed that they now have local transmission of COVID-19 after a resident of Barangay Mahayahay tested positive for the disease!
According to Dr. Cherlina Cañaveral, they have already conducted a contact tracing and verification with DOH-10, but they still can’t identify where or how the said individual got infected.
She then added that “ug mahitungod niini, atong napamatud-an nga aduna kitay local transmission dani sa atong dakbayan.”
[Because of this, we have confirmed that we now have a local transmission here in our city.]
Below are some case details:
- 21st positive case in Iligan
- 30-year-old male
- a resident of Purok Adelfa
- had a travel history– Maranding, Lanao del Norte (June 15) and Cagayan de Oro (July 1)
- now under strict quarantine
- placed in a city isolation unit
- asymptomatic
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, a lockdown will now be imposed in the affected puroks of Gumamela and Adelfa, in Brgy. Mahayahay.
