Mga higala! Kamagong: The Animation, a new Filipino-made anime series will soon be released in the country.

This anime is based on the comic series of director Carlo J. Caparas about the Filipino martial art of Arnis, which was made into a movie in 1986 starring Lito Lapid and JC Bonnin.

The animated series will be brought to life by Filipino-founded Sinag Animation Studios (SAS) and will follow the story of a protagonist named ‘Bagtas’, the heir to Namayan, a kingdom enslaved by a foreign empire. His goal is to find the eight bulawans of Bathala to unleash the true power of the powerful weapon ‘Kamagong’.

Moreover, Kamagong: The Animation is currently in production and there’s no definite date yet, but SAS president and CEO Dex Villamin said that they are looking to release the anime series in 2019.
