21 Oct LTFRB-10 Launches Tagging Scheme for Taxis and PUVs to Stop Proliferation of ‘Colorum’
To put the proliferation of the so-called “colorum” or unregistered PUVs in Cagayan de Oro to a stop, the Northern Mindanao office of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) launched a tagging scheme for taxis and other public utility vehicles (PUV).
According to Northern Mindanao LTFRB chief Aminoden Guro, the said campaign just recently started dealing with taxis first. The taxis are being tagged with the use of stickers which identify that they are registered PUVs. He added that the regional LTFRB office has already printed some 5,000 stickers for the campaign. These yellow-colored stickers have bar codes which contain information about the PUVs, that includes their registration details.
