05 Jan LTFRB Impounds Angkas Motorcycles @ Cagayan de Oro City
Mga higala! Motorcycle units working for the ride-sharing app ANGKAS here in Cagayan de Oro were recently impounded by the LTFRB, for operating outside the designated “Motorcycle Taxi Service Implementation Study” area.
According to a Facebook post by the Department of Transportation, the Angkas riders violated the terms of the “MC Taxi Pilot Study Program” which is now only being run in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu.
The said program is being conducted to help Congress formulate a new law that would enable motorcycles to be considered as a new public transportation mode.
However, the riders were said to be operating under the blessing of the city government, but this has not been confirmed yet.
