24 Jun StaySafe Contact Tracing App Now Mandatory In PUVs, Says LTFRB
Mga higala! The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has now implemented the mandatory use of the STAYSAFE.PH mobile app on all Public Utility Vehicles (PUV) as part of passenger contact tracing!
This is in accordance with LTFRB Memorandum Circular No. 2021-041 which was released on June 21, 2021.
With this, PUV operators are given 30 days to comply with the following:
- Register with the StaySafe.ph application and create their QR code
- Display the QR code on the entrance door and inside of PUVs for the passengers to see
- Require all passengers to scan the QR code when getting on and off PUVs
- Make data from the contact tracing app available to the LTFRB in accordance with the Data Privacy Act
- Coordinate with the StaySafe.ph app regarding the collection and use of the contact tracing data
The LTFRB will also strictly implement their 7 commandments:
- Always wear face masks and face shields
- Talking and using phones are not allowed
- Eating is not allowed
- Proper ventilation should be insured (turn off aircon and open windows whenever possible)
- Frequent disinfection of PUVs
- Symptomatic passengers must not be allowed to board a PUV
- Follow proper social distancing (1 seat apart)
