24 Aug LTO To Issue 10-Year License To “Good Drivers”
Mga higala! The Land Transportation Office (LTO) will be issuing a new driver’s license that’s valid for 10 years, starting October 2021!
However, not everyone will qualify for this, especially if they have any driving violations and have earned demerit points.
“This is an incentive for drivers who obey traffic rules, even just one demerit point can disqualify you. So to avail of this premium, your record must be clean,” said LTO Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante.
ICYDK, the “demerit system” was implemented in 2019 as part of the implementing rules and regulations of Republic Act No. 10930.
