24 Sep LTO To Require License & Registration For Electric Scooters & E-Bikes
Mga higala! The Land Transportation Office (LTO) will soon be requiring registration for electric scooters and e-bikes. Its drivers will then need to have a license!
According to the Manila Bulletin, LTO Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante recently said that they have already submitted an initial copy of guidelines to the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
The DOTr will then release a memorandum circular which will be implemented by the LTO. This will manage the mentioned vehicles and other electric automobiles.
Galvante then emphasized that this is for the safety of drivers who use electric scooters and e-bikes since they are very susceptible to accidents.
