08 Apr Macabalan-Bonbon Bridge: 7th Bridge Soon To Rise in Cagayan de Oro City
Once completed, this new bridge “Macabalan-Bonbon Bridge” that soon will rise in the city of Cagayan de Oro would be the longest bridge in Mindanao. Counted as the city’s seventh bridge, it will connect Barangay Bonbon and Barangay Macabalan. To be built by UKC Builders, Inc. costing P384,259,000.
The said bridge is a two-lane concrete bridge with the given width of 7.32m carriageway and length of 1,315m. Aside its sole purpose of linking the two barangays Macabalan and Bonbon, it will also serve as a direct access of logistic transport from Iligan to CDO Port.
The bridge is said to improve the decongestion of traffic in the city, and that it will facilitate faster delivery of goods and service to people within the area. It is designed where barges and motor boats can navigate and pass below.
