In observance of the end of Ramadan otherwise known as Eid’l Fitr, the official residence of the President of the Philippines, Malacañang Palace, has declared June 26 as a national regular holiday.

In an article from Inquirer.net, the Eid’l Fitr holiday declaration or Proclamation No. 235 encourages participation and observance of the whole Filipino nation from different religious denominations in the observance of Islam’s Eid’l Fitr.

Article 169 of the 1977 Presidential Decree provides the formalization of the Eid’l Fitr as one of the recognized holidays in the country.

According to the Department of Labor and Employment, employees who will be working on regular holidays are granted “…at least 200 percent of the sum of their daily rate and cost of living allowance”.
