A man went missing after the heavy rain caused by the tail-end of a cold front on February 16, Thursday.

According to a report from Bombo Radyo, the victim was believed to have fallen into a spillway at Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.

The victim was identified by Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Executive Director Fernando Sotsot Dy, Jr. as Crespin Mantegmo, 24 years old and a resident at Barangay Sangalan.

It was reported earlier that 35 families were forced to evacuate due to the rapid increase of floodwaters in the said village.

As of now, there are few families who are still in the evacuation centers. And food packs were immediately distributed to the affected families.

Yesterday, PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration) declared Cagayan de Oro, Bukidnon, and Misamis Oriental under the Yellow Alert rainfall.
