04 Jan Man Stabbed and Shot by Friends While at a New Year’s Party
Earl Balaba, who was just attending a New Year’s party in Cagayan de Oro, was stabbed and shot by two of his friends. The murder was thought to be provoked by jealousy.
It was when Den “Dogoy” Peleciano, the victim’s friend, went to the said party to look for his wife who was dancing and then fetched her. Returning to the party bringing with him a mutual friend named Dodong Villega to look for Balaba, Peleciano then stabbed the victim with Villega finishing with a shot. This was according to a report from ABS-CBN News.
Witnesses said that the suspects were allegedly intoxicated.
Balaba’s common-law-wife Carla Villanueva believes that the suspects may have thought that Peleciano’s wife was dancing with Balaba.
Currently, the police are pursuing the suspects after being unable to apprehend them.
