09 Jun Marawi City evacuees receive 7,592 bags of rice from NFA
Families who are displaced by the continued armed conflict in Marawi City will be receiving bags of rice from the National Food Authority (NFA).
In an article from businessmirror.com, NFA released about 7,592 bags of rice to be given out to the victims of the current situation in Marawi City through relief-giving groups and organizations.
The relief-giving effort was made possible by different provincial and city offices of NFA such as offices in Misamis Oriental-600 bags, Maguindanao-3,600, General Santos City-1,867 bags, Cagayan de Oro City-500 bags, and Iligan City-300 bags.
NFA Administrator Jason Laureano Y. Aquino said that the NFA employees at their Marawi City office are currently at Iligan City to continue work even if their office has been closed for the meantime. While holding office in another city, they continue coordinating with other NFA offices in the distribution of rice bags as well as in the monitoring of the situation in Marawi.
Last May 25, it was reported that the Maute group robbed 100 bags of rice from the NFA Marawi City warehouse.
