22 Jan Maute Group Members Killed in Lanao Del Sur Encounter
Several Maute members were killed in their encounter with Philippine Army’s 1st Tabak Division at Brgy. Kalilangan, Masiu, Lanao del Sur.
In an article by Bombo Radyo, Marawi City Police Officer Dir. Supt. Ebra Moxsir said that the gunfight started when 10 armed Maute members boarded a boat. And were spotted by the army passing thru the province of Masiu.
1st Tabak Division Commander Brig. Gen. Roseller Murillo then added that they were able to sink the rebels boats in the encounter. Several weapons were recovered from the wreck such as; M203 Grenade Launchers, RPG Launchers, Anti-personnel Rockets, ISIS Flag and drug paraphernalia.
Furthermore, according to military records, more than 900 terrorists have already been killed during last year’s encounters.
