29 Jun Maute hostages forced into sex slavery
In an article from ManilaStandard.net, state military forces found out that the female hostages of Maute bandits were forced into marriage and sexual slavery.
Armed Forces Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla said that there are information from hostages who escaped in Marawi that women hostages became sex slaves for the Maute members.
According to Task Force MArawi Spokesperson Lt. Col. Jo-Ar Herrera, hostages in Marawi were being forced to convert to Islam and the female ones are being disrespected.
Moreover, civilian hostages were also forced to carry firearms and use it against military forces. Aside from that, they are also tasked to help the wounded fighters of the terrorist group into their hiding places.
On Wednesday, the Department of Justice said that they will train 30 prosecutors from Manila to handle the rebellion cases in continuous litigation against the Maute terrorists.
