08 Dec Mayor Isko Moreno Buys Addt’l 150 Metric Tons Of Organic Rice From Mindanao Farmers
Mga higala! The City Government of Manila, under Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, has placed an additional order of 150 metric tons of black, red, and brown “organic rice” from rice farmers in Mindanao!
ICYMI, Mayor Isko initially bought 500 metric tons of organic rice worth around P40 million, prior to the first “MinDA Tienda sa Manila” event held earlier this year.
These will be utilized for the mayor’s new program which will distribute organic rice to Manila’s senior citizens this Christmas.
This program also aims to help Mindanao Organic Rice Farmers who participated in the said MinDA Tienda event and are still affected by the unchecked inflow of imported rice in the country.
