06 Oct Mayor Moreno and Budget Officer Bañez Face Graft and Corruption Charges Re Ajinomoto Issue

Confirmed by former Taglimao Chairman William Guialani, Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno and his budget officer Glenn Bañez are facing graft and corruption charges before the Sandiganbayan. This was after Guialani received a notice coming from the Ombudsman with regards to his raised case in the Sandiganbayan.
According to Guialani, the Ombudsman declared to lunge the case of Moreno to the Sandiganbayan for having no criminal jurisdiction.
Moreno’s graft case rooted to the complaint raised by Guialani to the Ombudsman in relation to the controversial Ajinomoto issue. Guialani believed that the Sandiganbayan won’t be taking more time before releasing a warrant of arrest against Moreno.
Meanwhile, Moreno welcomed the graft case saying that through it, his legal team will be able to find out where their counter affidavit went. For it was learned that the Ombudsman based Moreno’s suspension due to him not submitting a counter affidavit against Guialani’s filed complaint. Moreno repeatedly persisted that he is innocent.
