Mayor Moreno: No Need For “No Vaccination, No Ride” Policy

Mga higala! In a recent press briefing, Mayor Oscar Moreno expressed that there’s no need for a “no vaccination, no ride” policy in Cagayan de Oro City (and in surrounding areas) due to the high demand for vaccines!

(ICYDK, this policy was recently implemented in NCR because of the surge in new cases.)

Moreno said that many people are still lining up in vaccination centers which means that there’s still a lot who are interested in getting COVID-19 vaccines.

He then added that the mentioned policy and other “compulsive measures” should only be imposed if there’s low demand and more people need to get inoculated.

“Gakabalaka ko ana (no vaccination, no ride policy) kay its anti-poor. But I support vaccination—to the fullest.”

Moreno stressed that what’s important now is that the demand for vaccination is high and that they should do what they can to satisfy that demand.
