29 Oct Mayor Moreno To Still Prohibit Cockfighting In Cagayan de Oro
Mga higala! Despite the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to allow cockfighting to resume in areas under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ), Mayor Oscar Moreno has expressed that it will still be prohibited in Cagayan de Oro City!
This is because public health should be prioritized, especially since local COVID-19 cases in the city are still increasing.
“Dili lang sa i-allow ang sabong noh. It’s like inviting the virus to further spread.
The evidence is very clear, ang atong local cases are on the rise.”
ICYDK, Cagayan de Oro has a total of 1,232 local COVID-19 cases as of October 28, 2020.
