Mga higala! Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno has expressed his support with the proposed “No vaccine, No enrolment” policy of the Department of Health (DOH), in order to ensure the safety and protection of children.

This policy is being considered right now by the Department of Education (DepEd), due to the rising number of measles cases in the Philippines.

According to Sunstar CDO, Mayor Moreno stated that vaccination is a form of protection because the health of the children is paramount and that it’s better to do something before it’s too late.

“That’s good, in that, ang imong commitment to serve is really being pushed, and also para sa safety sa mga bata, lisod man ayha ka na molihok kung naa na gyud ang problema,” said Moreno.

As of now, DepEd-Northern Mindanao is still waiting for the final position of the DepEd central office, but Regional Director Arturo Bayocot said that they are ready to support the policy, if that’s what the central office decides.

What about you higala? Do you agree with this “No vaccine, No enrolment” policy? Should it be a prerequisite for all students? Is it unfair to other parents who are afraid to vaccinate their children?
