Mayor Oscar Moreno Encourages Traffic Enforcers To Deal With Work Pressure

In the midst of issues existing against traffic enforcers for involving in fights with motorists, Cagayan de Oro City Mayor, Mayor Oscar Moreno urges officials of the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) to take seminars with topics on how to deal with pressure and conflicts while on duty.

It could be recalled just recently that a soldier fired his rifle at a traffic enforcer which caught the attention of the residents of Cagayan de Oro City. Some came into the defense of the soldier while others did not like the angst of some of our traffic enforcers.

On the other hand, another video of a traffic enforcer got viral when the later challenged a taxi driver to a fistfight.

Mayor Moreno, however, understands the pressure with the traffic enforcers as they are expected to fix traffic flow all the time.

In an article from sunstar.com.ph, Mayor Moreno reminds every traffic enforcers that at the end of the day it’s their duty and responsibility to serve the public and this requires a high degree of service orientation.

Mayor Moreno challenges every traffic enforcers to always smile while on duty despite the heat, dust, and traffic they encounter every day.

RTA Chief Lawyer Edgardo Uy acknowledges the advice given by Moreno. However, he clarified that the RTA already is holding values formation and traffic education sessions every week for all its personnel.

With regards to the Mayor’s advice, Uy reassured that improvement should be done in the name of public service.

He also encouraged the public to report all rude deeds of traffic enforces so that they can be reprimanded.
