23 Feb Military, PNP Tighten Security After NPA Road Blocking
The 58th Infantry (DIMALULUPIG) Battalion of 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army has tightened security in the provinces after some 60 New People’s Army (NPA) rebels conducted a road blocking at Medina, Misamis Oriental on February 21, Tuesday morning.
According to a report from Bombo Radyo, the military said that the road blocking controlled by the communist rebels only seeks their scant force, said 58th IB spokesperson 1Lt Janelle Diaz.
Philippine National Police (PNP) 10 has already tighten their coordination with the 4th UD, Philippine Army to prevent and counter the activities by NPA in the region.
This, after the rebels vows to commit offensive act against the police and the military.
It can be recalled that the rebels headed by a certain Richard Manseguiao alias Kumander Macong from the Guerilla Front Committee 4-B, flagged down at least 30 vehicles at Barangay Pahindong, Medina.
PNP-10 spokesperson Supt Lemuel Gonda made the statement due to the suddent road blocking conducted by the NPA rebels.
