05 Jul Military takes over terrorist hideout; Dansalan College in Marawi City

In an article from Sunstar.com, Philippine Military troops yesterday, July 4, were able to breach the defense of terrorists on Dansalan College that was used as one of the strongest quarters of rebels in Marawi City.
Dansalan College was one of the institutions that were taken over and had been exploited as a sturdy vantage point where snipers and machine gun operators of terrorists nestled when the attacks took place in the city.
Military operatives recovered a caliber .50 heavy machine gun and 14 other high powered artillery when they searched around the college.
In addition, a corpse of a suspected Singaporean national was also found inside the terrorist hideout increasing the number of foreign nationals killed to 11.
It was also found out that the Maute brothers once studied in the College.
The military has reportedly also said that the offensive against the rebels in Marawi City is nearing to an end and strict military measures like the imposed curfew around areas near the city have been lessened.
