20 Sep Milo Little Olympics-Mindanao Leg Participants Decrease Due To Terrorism Scare
In an article posted by Sunstar Cagayan de Oro, the annual celebration of the Milo Little Olympics Mindanao Leg has been greatly affected by the ongoing crisis in Marawi City.
According to the Organizer of the Milo Little Olympics Mindanao Leg, Megdonio Llamera, the participants of this year’s event have decreased from last year’s 208 registered school participants last year from 110 high schools and 98 elementary schools against this year’s 148 schools with 76 high schools and 72 elementary schools.
On the other hand, Colonel Lemuel Gonda of the Philippine National Police-Northern Mindanao agreed on Llamera’s statement and said that the turnout of participants is inevitable since Iligan, Cagayan de Oro and Lanao del Norte is under level three of threat.
In 2013, it can be remembered there is a decrease in the number of participants in the Milo Olympics from Cagayan de Oro due to the bombing incident at an area around Limketkai Mall.
