20 Dec Mindanao PNP Cancels Taping of Gun Muzzles

Due to the recent rise of threats in Mindanao, PNP-10 will cancel their annual procedure of taping all gun muzzles during Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
This defers from their usual goal of preventing police officers in firing their weapons during holiday celebrations. But they want the public to understand that this is just an advanced security measure.
PNP Regional Spokesperson Supt. Lemuel Gonda expressed that it is important for all PNP officers to be ready whenever there are criminal threats in their respective areas.
Gonda also added that this is only temporary and the taping of gun muzzles will resume once the current 3A threat level in Mindanao subsides.
