15 Jan Construction Of Mindanao Railway System To Finally Start In Q1 Of 2020
Mga higala! The construction of the Mindanao Railway System, the first train system outside Luzon, will finally start in the first quarter of 2020, according to the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
The Phase 1 of this railway system will connect the Davao Region through Tagum, Davao City, and Digos, with a 102-kilometer rail line.
This phase will cost P82.9 billion, which is a huge increase in expenses, compared to the previously approved cost of P35.9 billion in 2017.
When finished, the Mindanao Railway System will connect Davao, Iligan, Cagayan de Oro, General Santos City, and Zamboanga, and will be able to accommodate around 110,000 passengers daily.
