01 Jun Miriam Defensor-Santiago Rushed to the ICU!
On Tuesday night, May 31, the veteran senator, Miriam Defensor-Santiago was rushed into the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Makati Medical Center according to her husband Narciso Santiago Jr.
Her husband said that Miriam was “rushed to the hospital.” No other reasons were indicated on why she was brought into the hospital. The only statement about this question that her husband had answered is that she is “sick and suffered complication”
He said that “visitors are not allowed” and gifts are not allowed too.
Miriam “is bearing well with her trademark sense of humor,” he said.
He also added, “Miriam said that she thanks all her family, friends, supporters, fans, and others who helped pray for her recovery and sent their well-wishes on Facebook.”
During the 2016 Philippine national elections, Miriam ran for the presidency and lost.
She was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2014. Lately, she is suffering from anorexia (inability to eat), a side effect of her medication.
