15 Jul MisOr Awarded As Quality Nutrition Program Finalist: Lowest in “Prevalence of Stunting” in Region X
Mga higala! Ms. Marites Gomez, the Provincial Health Office Nutrition Division Head, proudly announced that among the provinces in Northern Mindanao, Misamis Oriental set a record for having the lowest number of malnutrition cases like obesity, stunting, wasting, and more.
Based on the 2019 Operation Timbang Plus (OPT plus) results released by the National Nutrition Council X, under the leadership of Governor Bambi Emano the province has the lowest stunting in children aged 0-59 months compared to the other 4 provinces in the region.
With this year’s nutrition month campaign “Batang Pinoy SANA TALL… Iwas stunting, SAMA ALL! Iwas ALL din sa COVID-19,” the province is successful in its efforts, becoming a finalist in the Quality Nutrition Program.
