27 Sep MisOr Capitol Launches Free Wi-Fi
The Misamis Oriental Provincial Capitol in Cagayan de Oro City, through the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental, now provides free Wi-Fi connectivity starting last Monday, September 25, within its compound.
In an article from Sunstar Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Emano said that being able to connect to the internet has become very useful to people nowadays so the provincial government became very interested in having its own Wi-Fi connection around its area and made Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT)-Smart Communications as a partner to make it a reality for the benefit of the people of Misamis Oriental and Cagayan de Oro City.
Emano said that MisOr is the very first province in Region 10 to have its own free Wi-Fi connectivity which will be big help for those who do not have their own internet connection at home as well as government agencies like the nearby National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) that may need the internet for processing important transactions and documents.
However, the Governor emphasized that he aims to make the wireless connection secured from online content that is deemed inappropriate for minors and to make it sure that it will not come as a distraction to capitol employees and the delivery of the provincial government’s services.
