14 Aug MisOr and CdeO farmers gather in agricultural and farming skills training
Farmers from Misamis Oriental province and Cagayan de Oro City gather in the two-day training on urban vegetable gardening, space/land use and waste utilization last August 3-4, 2017 at the TIEZA Gardens of Malasag Ecotourism Village at Brgy Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City.
In an article from Philippine Information Agency, the training program included participants from Local Government Units (LGUs) in Claveria, Jasaan, Villanueva, Tagoloan, Balingasag, Magsaysay, Opol, Naawan, Gitagum, Lugait and Cagayan de Oro and was conducted to teach and train farmers on the latest crop and vegetable technology.
Bryan M. Apatan, Misamis Oriental Provincial Agriculture Office (MOPAO), said that the activity introduces the latest technology in agriculture and farming, and “…it’s principles and concepts and to share the best practices through farming innovations, adoption of combined customary and scientific approaches in farming technologies”.
Apatan said that the training would not only help farmers to be aware of the advancements in the agricultural sector and improve their skills in farm production but more importantly, to learn more on the marketing side of the trade.
