09 Mar MisOr Gov invites DPWH-10 to explain Opol bridge mishap
In a report from Bombo Radyo Cagayan de Oro, the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental has invited the Department of Public Works and Highways Region 10 officials to explain the incident on how the bridge’s riprap in Opol collapsed, which caused a heavy traffic in the area.
According to PDRRMO Executive Office Sotsot Dy Jr., the government agency needs to answer to the public the cause of the incident since it resulted to a heavy traffic and left commuters stranded for nearly 8 hours on the highway.
Meanwhile, the DPWH-10 has already explained that they are at fault since they tried to straighten up both bridges in Barangay Igpit and Opol which caused the heavy traffic.
They said the bridge should not have collapsed if they have controlled the heavy vehicles which are passing the bridge.
