14 Feb Mis Or Gov’t to Transfer Inmates to a New Jail Facility in Initao
In a report from Sun.Star, a “build-operate-transfer” project is being planned by the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental involving a private company for the realization of the construction of the new jail facility in Initao. And according to Provincial Information Officer Nicole Managbanag, the said private company will then be allowed to make use of the old jail facility at the Capitol Compound as a form of exchange.
Managbanag, however, added that the province is still searching for parties who are interested.
In-charge of the operation of the planned Initao facility, which will be constructed inside a 4-hectare property, is the Provincial Government.
Currently, the Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail houses over 700 detainees which was built to only accommodate 200 inmates.
