09 May MisOr Provincial Gov’t allocates P 3M-Budget for Brigada Eskwela Program
Every year, the Department of Education conducts its Brigada Eskwela. According to the DepEd Memorandum No. 43, 2017, Brigada Eskwela is a program that aims to bring together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time, effort and resources to prepare public school facilities for the opening of the School Year.
With the theme, “Isang DepEd, Isang Pamayanan, Isang Bayanihan Para sa Handa at Ligtas na Paaralan”, this year’s Brigadad Eskwela will start from May 15 to 20.
In an article on SunStar.com, the provincial government has allocated a P3 million-budget for this year’s Brigada Eskwela Program. This would not only help public schools to improve their facility but also to end the practice of collecting money from parents for the annual Brigada Eskwela.
Allocation of P3 million budget is shared by big, intermediate, and small schools. Big schools will receive P15,000, while the intermediate and small schools will receive P10,000 and P5,000 respectively.
Unlike the previous Brigada Eskwela wherein assistance in the form of materials such as paint, cement were given, this year assistance will come in the form of cash to allow for the different needs of every school.
