20 Jun Miss PH Earth 2017 candidates visit CdeO to promote tourism amidst Marawi crisis
15 candidates from the Miss Philippines Earth 2017 competition are now in Cagayan de Oro City and are set to visit other different places in Misamis Oriental to promote tourism amidst the ongoing conflict in Marawi City.
In an article from Sunstar.com.ph, Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Vicente Emano said that the province was handpicked as one of the places in the Philippines where the candidates of the Miss Philippines Earth 2017 will make stopovers to interact with locals and experience what the place has to offer.
Governor Emano expressed his gratitude to the pageant organizers for taking the time to visit the province as it will show that Misamis Oriental is still safe months after the crisis in Marawi City broke out and the President’s declaration of Martial Law on the whole island-region of Mindanao begun.
He also added that if there were no time constraints, he could show many beautiful places throughout the province to the candidates.
Carousel Productions, Vice President Peachy Veneracion said that the tour is part of the pre-pageant activities of the Miss Philippines Earth candidates.
Veneracion also thanked Governor Emano for allowing the organization to visit the province and guaranteed their participation in promoting Misamis Oriental will be evident.
One of the activities that the Miss Philippines Earth candidates will be doing is a mini fashion show at Ayala Centrio Mall Activity Center Cagayan de Oro City scheduled today, June 20.
