Mark your calendars for Filipino’s pride Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach is going to have a special Cagayan de Oro homecoming this coming January 29, 2016. After being crowned as the new reigning Miss Universe last December 20 of 2015, Filipinos all over the world celebrated this anticipated triumph.

But before Pia’s homecoming in Cagayan de Oro, the reigning Miss Universe is set to have a series of commitments and events as arranged by the Miss Universe officials with the Binibining Pilipinas Charities chaired by Stella Marquez-Araneta.

It is being expected that Pia Wurtzbach will arrive in the Philippines on late Saturday afternoon, January 23, 2016. She will then be given a ticker tape parade around Manila to Makati central business district on Ayala Avenue to Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City, a citation of excellence at the Senate, a medal of distinction at the House of Representatives in Quezon City, and a courtesy call on President Aquino at Malacañang on Monday morning. Foreign media members are also presumed to flock to Manila to cover Pia’s hectic schedule.

On January 26, Pia will have courtesy calls on Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada and acting Makati Mayor Romulo “Kid” Peña. Then her next days will be devoted to her advocacies including raising awareness on HIV/AIDS. On January 28 which is Thursday, a special Miss Universe homecoming is set to be held at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City. And then on January 29 is her Cagayan de Oro homecoming where she grew up.
