15 Dec Miss Universe Fashion Show in Davao Canceled, Eyes Cagayan de Oro
Last December 14, 2016, Wednesday, Tourism Undersecretary Kat de Castro announced that the Miss Universe fashion show which is supposed to be held in Davao has been canceled.
The said cancellation was done to prevent controversies that may arise from the statements made by Davao local designers, specifically, the Davao Fashion and Design Council (DFDC) who criticized the Miss Universe hosting committee’s decision of having industry veteran Renee Salud create the outfits for the candidates to wear for the fashion show.
Salud expressed his sadness with the cancellation of the said event in Davao, however, he still hopes that the event will be held in another city mentioning General Santos and Cagayan de Oro, in an interview with ABS-CBN News’ Mario Dumaual.
