26 Dec MMFF Features Siargao Island
As part of its yearly tradition, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has once again held the Metro Manila Film Festival. This is the 43rd edition of the annual MMFF held in Metro Manila and throughout the Philippines.
The MMFF features movies that portray everything “Filipino”, from our country’s history, values, and amazing locations.
During this year’s MMFF, an entry has showcased the Philippines’ surfing capital right here in Mindanao, Siargao Island.
The movie is entitled Siargao. Directed by Paul Soriano, the man behind films such as Kid Kulafu and Dukot.
This film is led by Jericho plays Diego, a musician who returns to his hometown of Siargao to take a break from the chaotic life in Manila. There, he meets Laura (Erich), a fashion and beauty vlogger nursing a broken heart after her boyfriend dumped her. Along the way, they challenge each other as feelings grow between them. For Diego, returning to Siargao also means facing his past, including ex-flame Abi (Jasmine).
Siargao also features some of the Philippines’ popular surfers and gives the viewers a taste of what the surfing capital has to offer.
