03 Jun Troubled Mother Jumps Off Ship With 7-Month Old Baby Near Dipolog City: Rescued By Crew

Mga higala! A troubled mother who was carrying her 7-month old baby, jumped off a ship bound for Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte, last May 31, at around 7:00 am.
Fortunately, some of the ship’s crew noticed the incident and immediately threw a lifebuoy near the mother and her child, who was drifting away from the ship. They then informed their captain and turned the ship around, in order to perform a rescue.
After 20 minutes, the crew successfully brought the mother and baby aboard, where they administered first aid for the mother and performed CPR on the baby. Both of them survived.
It was later found out that the mother argued with her husband prior to the incident and was not in her right frame of mind when she jumped overboard.
