Motorcycle Thief Arrested in Cugman

Afternoon of June 17, 2016, an alleged notorious motorcycle thief was arrested by the police authorities and at least two motorcycles were recovered during a mobile check situated along Cugman national highway.

As identified by Cugman police station chief, Chief Insp. Ivan Viñas, the suspect is named Leo Castil, 23, who is a resident of Sitio Acasia, Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro. Castil is considered one of the police character responsible on the series of stealing motorcycles within their area.

Tools used in stealing motorcycles, a hunting knife, sachets of presumed shabu and drug paraphernalia were seized from Castil.

During the initial investigation, Castil revealed the area where they stock the motorcycles they stole and other motorcycle spare parts which they will well in public. The police authorities were able to recover stolen items inside Ecoville Subdivision in Lumbia. It’s where they disassemble their stolen XRM motorcycles.

According to Viñas, they regard the group of Castil as an organized group thinking that after they steal a motorcycle, they then deliver it to their hideout and start disassembling while the other members of the group do the selling. Viñas and the other members of their group come from Iligan City and Bukidnon province.

A red-white XRM-Honda motorcycle which bore a plate number KJKJ-6003 and black Skygo with a defaced serial and engine number were the latest units recovered by the police.
