16 Aug Talented Composer & Musician From CDO Receives “Ani Ng Dangal Award”
Mga higala! Niño Cesar Borromeo Tiro, a composer and musician from Cagayan de Oro City, has been chosen by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) as one of the Ani ng Dangal 2021 awardees in the music category!
ICYDK, the Ani ng Dangal is given to a natural-born Filipino artist or group that has reaped top honors in international events. Its coverage includes the seven art disciplines:
- Architecture and Allied Arts
- Cinema
- Dance
- Dramatic Arts
- Literary Arts
- Music
- Visual Arts
- including Multi-Disciplinary Arts
Tiro garnered the said award for bringing pride and honor to the Philippines after his piano composition “Phantasie für Ludwig” was chosen to be part of the 250 Piano Pieces for Beethoven International Composition Project in 2019.
His composition was then performed by pianist Susanne Kessel in the following dates and locations below:
- 29th June 2019 – Marktplatz Bonn (World Premiere)
- 12th August 2019 – Beethoven Monument Bonn, Münsterplatz
- 6th September 2019 – TASTE Klavierfestival Ebertplatz, Köln
- 9th September 2019 – Historisches Gemeindezentrum Bonn
- 11th September 2020 – Kammermusiksaal Beethoven-Haus Bonn
Furthermore, Tiro is the only Filipino composer featured in the said project.
